How effective is the combination of your main product (video) and ancillary texts (digipak and advertisement)? Both my advertisement and my diji pack follow a smiliar convention and theme.
Both my diji pack and my ancillary work link together this is down to the black and white colour i have used. My video links with my diji pack and advertisement also as we have used the same mise-en-scene ( the hat )

My target audeince is teenagers and young adults and also aimed at people who go to clubs alot. I think my video appeals to this audience as it is very fast beat and also there is a clip where people are out a house party drinking which will appeal to young adults.

Wretch 32 is an artist that has used the black and white theme for his digi pack.

Overall i feel that my music video went really well and i am pleased with the end result it was very fun to film and to edit and my group worked well. I am happy with my digi pack and my advertisement however i feel that i could of been a bit more creative and used my imagination more.

Evaluation
1. In what ways does your media product use , develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
These screen shots show the close ups of the artist and the mid shots and long shots
show the artists style.
We studied examples videos to get ideas for our own. We wanted to to create the same style of example who dresses very simple and plain. I wanted to create my advertisement black and white like examples video because i think that we focus more on the music then the images and colours. Also we studied the camerawork and this video has many close ups of the artists and we portrayed that in our video.
These screen shots show the close ups of the artist and the mid shots and long shots
show the artists style.

We also looked at the video Nas 'One Mic' there was a scene where the artists is standing in the middle of the street and everything around him is in slow motion we wanted to use this as it helps the audience focus more on the artist.
Andrew Goodwin feels that traditional narrative analyses don't really apply to pop videos its just because they approach from a different angle to novels and films. He states that pop videos rely on repetition. The video repeats images in the way the song repeats lines of the song. It builds to a climax or to a constant repetition before fading away. Another feature is that women present themselves as being a male gaze such as Beyonce and Madonna.
In my music video C-Moore is always looking straight into the camera which is another convention of a music video. By using this the audience feel apart of the video and its promotes the artist.

I Started to make my diji pack and started to find it very hard to be creative i looked at previous students work and gathered ideas. I wanted to keep my simple so chose and black and white theme. I wanted people to concentrate on the pictures of the artists not of the colour with the picture being in black and white they stand out more.
picture to be added

My Pitch
My 5 words to describe my digi pack and advertisement are bold, boisterous, colourful, dance and happy.
I will be using 4 panels for my digi pack. My magazine advert will be located mainly in clubs as it is a dance album so clubbers are more likely to buy it. It will also be located at bustops , cd shops. local shopping outlets and the internet .
I got my ideas for examples album as i copied his tracks on my own track list.
I then got the thumbs out to go ahead and start making the real thing.
This is my advert for my digi pack , it includes of a photo of my album cover , my artist name and the album, when the album is realised , where it is available and the record company name and also social networking sites where it will be advertised.
Today in class i put together my mock up of my digi pack and my advert. I found it difficult to come up with ideas as i am no very creative so i looked for inspiration from other artists album such as Example and David Guetta.

I like the positioning of the photo of the artist with the album and artist name on the right hand side. I like that the photo is in black and white but the writing is in a bold colour to make it stand out.
I like the boldness of the artists name and the different photos of Example it shows his different personalities.

In class today we discussed come questions around digipacks and why artists still use them.
Why are CD covers still used despite Cd sales dropping?
> It promotes the artist / name
> It shows a list of songs
> It gives us information about the songs and the production
> It grabs people attention in shops
> Its a indication of the artist direction
>Its the most important advertisement
> Consumers get to the the artist identity.
>Its used for mp3 files (itunes)
For example Rhiannas Album

Examples Of ' Examples' albums

They are all very simple with colour and the text font is not confusing and we can see it very clearly and the images go with the genre of the album music.
