Analysis of three magazine advertisements

The magazine advert bellow if for the grime artist Wretch 32’s album called ‘Wretchrospective’. It follows all the general conventions used by the majority of magazine advertisements. It also relates to my artist not only through the genre of music, but also the target audience who would be young adults. It has an edgy urban feel to it that my own artist follows too which allows a closer connection to their target audiences.

This advert informs us of when we can next see Tinie Tempah live. I couldn’t find and advert for one of his albums so I chose this one instead, because it still keeps all the conventions of a magazine advert and it relates to our artist who is similar to Tinie Tempah style wise as they both wear casual clothing to relate to their target audience, and genre wise hip hip/grime.

Rizzle Kicks too didn’t have an advert for their album however the advert I did find which again promotes a show they will be appearing at, does relate through its style to the style of their album. I chose to do Rizzle Kicks because I previously analysed their album work, and also because they relate to my own artist in the sense that they both target young adults, and have an urban, casual style they put across. Finally their music styles are similar and all this is as you can see bellow, conveyed through the advertisement.
