Example – Stay Awake
We looked at some Example videos to get inspiration and idea for our own one seeing as our artist will be very similar to Example and his type of work and audinces. We looked at Stay Awake and liked the idea of having one of our base tracks with just our main artist at a plain black or white wall with a massive letter representing their first name (in this case ‘e’ for Example). We liked this idea because it allows the audience to focus on just the artist, which is a way of promoting them.
Nas – One Mic
We came across this video and liked the mise en scene and use of slow motion. At 0:56, we have the main artist singing whiles a group of boys run past him, we thought this was a great idea and decided to do something similar to this in our video by having our main artist sing whiles in slow motion we have a group of boys and girls running past him. By having the artist stay in one place while everything else around him doesn’t, it allows the focus to still be on him, even thought there’s other things happening in the scene. The use of slow motion in parts of the video also appealed to us and we decided to put it in when the boys and girls run in our video that way portraying the idea that its as if they do not want this moment to ever end, because in our video they will be running due to them having fun which will hopefully relate to our target audience who will be young and wanting to have fun too with their friends.
LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem
We got the idea for our motive which is two guys with paper bags over their heads from LMFAO- Party Rock Anthem where there’s a guy with cardboard over his head showing up in places throughout the video.
